The People’s Committee of Phu Yen province has just issued an official letter No. 6062 / UBND – DTXD requesting the Ministry of Transport to pay attention to implementing and adjusting the detailed planning of Tuy Hoa airport.

“The People’s Committee of Phu Yen province requested the Ministry of Transport to consider and select a sponsor and assign the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam to receive the funding source, organize the implementation of detailed planning adjustment for Tuy Hoa airport”, Document number 6062 clearly.

Previously, in August 2020, the Ministry of Transport sent official letter No. 8023 / BGTVT -KHĐT to the People’s Committees of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa provinces to respond to the proposals of the two provinces for upgrading Tuy Hoa airport.

According to the Ministry of Transport, to have a basis to upgrade Tuy Hoa airport in accordance with Decision No. 236 / QD-TTg dated February 23, 2018 of the Prime Minister approving the adjustment of the aviation transport development planning period By 2020, with a vision to 2030, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has submitted to the Ministry of Transport for approval the task of adjusting the master plan – estimate the adjustment of the planning of Tuy Hoa airport. Therefore, the budget allocated for the implementation of the task of preparing and adjusting airport plans is in difficulty, the Ministry of Transport has not been able to approve the task of adjusting the above planning.

It is expected that the Ministry of Transport will propose the arrangement in the 2021 State budget for implementation. In case the People’s Committee of Phu Yen province can actively arrange legal funding to organize the adjustment of the detailed planning of Tuy Hoa airport, the Ministry of Transport supports and will direct the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the Relevant units closely coordinated in the formulation, receipt and approval of the master plan.
